MLS Compliance
Your MLS requires certain information to appear on your website. This guide explains what's required and how to set it up.
Why Compliance Matters
MLS boards require members to display attribution and disclaimers when showing MLS data on websites. Failure to comply can result in:
- Warnings from your MLS
- Fines or penalties
- Loss of MLS data access
The good news: setting this up takes just a few minutes.
What You Need to Display
Attribution Text
Attribution acknowledges where listing data comes from. This typically includes:
- MLS board name
- Data provider information
- Date/time of last update
Example:
Listing data provided by Miami Realtors. Last updated January 15, 2026 at 3:45 PM EST.
Disclaimer Text (Optional)
Some MLS boards require additional disclaimer language about data accuracy or fair housing.
Example:
This information is believed to be accurate but is not guaranteed. Buyers should verify all information independently.
Setting Up Compliance
Step 1: Find Your MLS Requirements
Contact your MLS board or check their website for:
- Required attribution text
- Required disclaimer language
- Logo requirements (if any)
- Placement requirements
Step 2: Configure in Settings
- Go to Settings → Compliance
- Find the Attribution section
Step 3: Enter Attribution Text
Enter the exact text required by your MLS:
- Type or paste your attribution text
- You can include the last update time by using the placeholder
[lastUpdated] - Click Save
Example with dynamic timestamp:
Listing data provided by Miami Realtors. Last updated [lastUpdated].
Step 4: Add Disclaimer (If Required)
- Find the Disclaimer section
- Enter your required disclaimer text
- Click Save
Step 5: Upload MLS Logo (If Required)
Some MLS boards require their logo to appear:
- Find the MLS Logo section
- Click Upload Logo
- Select the official logo provided by your MLS
- Click Save
Where Compliance Information Appears
Your compliance information displays automatically in these locations:

Verifying Your Setup
After configuring compliance:
- Visit your public website
- Scroll to the footer—check for attribution
- Open any listing detail page
- Scroll to the bottom—verify attribution and disclaimer
- Compare against your MLS requirements

Keeping Compliance Current
Update When Rules Change
- Watch for MLS communications about policy changes
- Update your attribution text as needed
- Check at least quarterly
Review Your Display
- Periodically visit your site as a visitor would
- Verify all compliance elements are visible
- Test on mobile devices too
Troubleshooting
Attribution not appearing
- Verify you clicked Save after entering text
- Check that you're viewing the public site (not the dashboard)
- Clear your browser cache
Logo not displaying
- Check file format (PNG or JPG recommended)
- Ensure file size is under 1MB
- Try re-uploading
MLS contacted me about compliance
- Ask specifically what's missing or incorrect
- Update your settings accordingly
- Verify changes on your live site
- Respond to the MLS confirming the fix
